Games and Geekdom or even Day to Day Life its about it all

Blog being redone

So after a ungodly long hiatus, I have decided to start this back up but this time I’m gonna talk about what I’m passionate about and that’s games. I’m quite terrible at talking about myself (as prior post show) but games I can do. So expect a post within the week talking about my current game of the week ( I how a bunch) as well as classic one, later.

The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword Was Overthrown By Skyrim For Game Of The Year At VGAs

I may get some flak for this but I have to say I think Skyward Sword was a much better game the Skyrim although it itself is a very good game. Skyrim seems to have lost a lot of it’s deep gameplay over the years and while the series is good it didn’t have the same depth or impact Morrowind had ( even beyond nostalgia) but perhaps the same can be said about Skyward Sword to say A Link to the Past. Congrats to Bethesda nonetheless for the award.

My Nintendo News

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword sadly lost out to Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim at tonight’s Spike Video Game Awards. All was not completely lost as the Hall of Fame award went to The Legend of Zelda series which was collected by Shigeru Miyamoto.

Nintendo also scooped the award for Best Motion Control Game and Best Wii Game with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Super Mario 3D Land was awarded Best Handheld Game. So not too bad a night for Nintendo.

Holidays and Tech Jobs

Despite my sometimes stoic personality I’m actually somewhat of a sucker for the holidays and secretly relish in the festivities that follow with Christmas (to a degree of course, I don’t have a nativity scene in my front yard). This year I’ve been split between buying christmas presents for family and looking forward to next years big jump into the working field doing…. something Im not sure what yet but I’ll be doing it, positive thoughts people positive thoughts.
A likely proposition would be a job as IT support with one of my good friends in Champaign who opened a pc repair shop (a very nice one by the way. Volition a successful game company is also located down there so while I’m at it I can also stop by and say I’m pretty experienced in programming so how about we talk employment and a big paycheck, I’m not quite that bold in reality but hey you never know.
Anywho chestnuts roasting on an open fire is playing now and as I wonder why anyone would roast chestnuts or eat them for that matter I’d also like to extend a small apology out for abandoning my blog for a bit, it’s been a busy few weeks with finals just passing as well as my wonderful cousins wedding (you probably know her from the writer babe series Raven Moore, a big blogger). So as I reignite my writers flame and continue to wonder who the hell would roast chestnuts I’ll ponder what the next week will bring, oh I know a nice winter break and a game of dungeons and dragons online (we can get that airship guys), have a good week everyone.

Of Elves and Podcasts

Somewhere out there far into the land of Hyrule a man has braved evil dragons, saved a princess, and in the real world lost his phone and braved a cold (awesome right, of course it is). Hey ladies and gents sorry for the long wait but I’ve been out of commission with a bad cold which sucks because I was looking forward to writing a little.if you haven’t guess despite my previous praises about the Skyrim at heart legend of Zelda is one of my favorite series and lately I’ve been hooked on it. While listening the Nerdist podcast I’ve walked back down memory lane re living this tale of adventure and extreme.
It should also be noted that I just got into the Nerdist podcast this week and that was a result of losing my phone. I have a spare iPod but it has no music on it so when my phone went missing( it was wrapped in a pile of clothes by the way) I recalled someone raving about how funny Chris Hardwick was so I downloaded 2 podcasts and loved it, I got 10 more after that. If you like a wild comedy show with amazing guest ranging from Wil Wheaton to Patrick Stewart downloaded it cause it’s worth it.
Next week I hope to pick up the new Zelda game Skyward Sword and play it during my small but well needed break from work. Have a great thanksgiving break guys and see you next week.

The Beginning of Something Great

Hello fellow readers, bloggers, and everyone else in between welcome to the start of an interesting trip into a mellowed out gamers slightly geeky brain. As you can see this is still a work in progress partly because I want to hopefully make this a full fledge blog, and even start my own domain and learn some html (any pro’s out there send me some tips). I’ve always thought I had tons of ideas and humorous stories I should get out and honestly I didn’t think twitter would be enough but who knows maybe I’ll do that too. So as I play Elder Scrolls V Skyrim on this fine Sunday I will continue to get this blog to full power and maybe later I’ll tell you guys how my travels through the Nordic lands have been.
